Titanium lug nuts

Would anyone be interested in a group buy for these?

http://www.ozmoengineering.com/produ...tanium-lugnuts

OZMO currently doesn't produce these in the 14 x 1.5 with a 60° seat necessary for our cars. They agreed to produce the forging tool needed to punch out these things if we can get a minimum of 10 preorders @ $159 for a set of 20.

Let me now if there is interest!

2.) Christianmotox
3.) Zerort
4.) Synner

6.) Spartan01

Would these be primarily for track day?

With any open lug nut, you're prone to contamination if driven in foul weather. That said, I've run them for years with no problems at all, on the street and for autocross.

An OZMO rep has stated that they produce these as hobby at a low price point to support their race teams.

Would they fit in wheels that require narrower than stock "tuner" lugs like forgestar CF5's? That may limit your interest pool.

Considering they'd require a 18mm or 19mm socket, I believe that these are pretty narrow.

The total seat diameter is just as important as the size of the nut.

Of course. I just reached out to them for an estimation on seat diameter at its widest point for peace of mind. I really don't foresee this being an issue with these.

I can pull and measure one of mine to see if it'd work once you hear back, gonna have the fronts off this weekend anyways.

Every time I've assumed based upon logic I end up wasting money as the world is illogical, or at least the people on it are.

The latest bit of feedback from OZMO:

Hi David,

When I design, I will check to ensure fitment of all Camaros including Z/28. After designing, I can advise the outer diameter of the 60deg. taper, and if there is fitment issues, I will guarantee refund.

Ti lugnuts require a small amount of antiseize to prevent galling. As such, we always recommend a low seating-torque and then turns-of-the-nut method to match the stock nut clamping force. The on-torque with antiseize is typically around 30% lower to achieve the same clamping force.

Unlike Aluminium lugnuts, Ti Lugnuts can hold the same clamping load as stock steel ones.

Regards,
Jamie
