Hi, just took some pictures for you Aris. The 11J rim is within Pirelli's spec for the 325/30/R19 (see here https://www.pirelli.com/tires/en-us/...pzero-trofeo-r)

Picture order
1) rear 325/30/R19 on OEM 11.5J wheel. No spacer, factory camber.
2) front 325/30/R19 on OEM 11J wheel. No spacer (yet), max neg camber.

As you can see, there is a slight bulge on the front but it's not much different to how the rear is. Just the inherent shape of the Trofeo sidewall really...

Something really interesting for those that have been following this thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=501083&page=3
is that the two sets of Trofeo Rs I have are different!! One set (front) came off a Porsche 911 GT2 RS as very lightly worn. They are missing a set of very short grooves on the shoulder that you can see in my second set (rear) that are brand new June 2017. The older set also have the lettering picked out in red (I don't like it, any ideas how to remove?)

Whether this is anything to do with the Porsche N-spec ratings I don't know. I'm sure they will all be fine on the track!

Brighton Speed Trials 2017

Go easy on me, this was my first ever proper timed run and I messed up the launch with way too much wheelspin. Bear in mind it's not a proper dragstrip, its just bumpy, cracked concrete laid in the 1930s!

14.07s with a 3.75s 64ft time = rubbish. You only got one practice and one timed run so not enough to get your eye in really. There's also no opportunity for tyre warming. The car can run sub 12 seconds I think.

The event itself is brilliant, I had a great time, such a varied paddock, cars and motorcycles from all eras competing together. As I mentioned before, it's the world's Oldest Motor Racing event, first held in 1905.

Fastest bike ran a 9.0something @ 170mph!

Here's some images of the other machinery.

The highlights for me were the 27 litre Rolls Royce Merlin engined car and the 24 litre Napier Bentley! They can destroy their rear tyres in a single 1/4mile pass.

I may attend again next year, or I might try a different event such as the Crystal Palace sprints that are held in London.

Well done - saw yours parked up while in the pits but didnt see you run.

I can also confirm standing starts are not the z/28s thing....found that out at the Goodwood Spring Sprint. Pretty sure I had the worst 60ft of anything that ran that day

minor update

unpicked the Sparco stictching on the seats and replaced with Z/28 and Bowtie logos. Looks pretty OEM

Currently having some bolster covers made by an upholsterer in a matching leather to the standard seats to protect the bolsters from wear. The Sparco fabric looks like it will wear out quick, particularly if I have lots of passengers getting in and out for hotlaps on trackdays!

Awesome day at Curborough yesterday. Will write more later but for now here's a lovely pic taken by an excellent photographer.

I think that's me done for track events for 2017 now. Autumn (Fall?? ) has now well and truly landed in the UK so I think I will get the car up on stands in the garage for some well earned TLC over the winter.

cheers,
Patrick

Mate, you've been super busy with the car (on and off track!). Well done, must do more with mine, she's been a bit of a garage queen recently

Love the changes! So glad to see the Z stretch its legs on the track...that steering wheel is just awesome! Keep the updates coming!

Thanks for the comments guys.

I'm not done yet!! I've fallen in love with this car. A few more upgrades planned over the winter, and a full-on European trackday adventure roadtrip is on the cards for 2018.

This evening when I got home from work I started work on fitting my new Pfadt rear toe arms. These save another 1.5lbs of un-sprung weight and look very nicely made indeed. I chose these for maximum weight saving and because they are an officially licenced GM aftermarket part, gives me confidence the engineering behind them is sound.

I'll try to pick up the Pfadt trailing arms to match when I get a chance.

cheers,
Pat

OMG, send me some brake ducts for testing, I'll pay for shipping!! I need these for COTA, no better place to test braking ideas. Of all the tracks I've driven, COTA is by far the toughest on the braking system.
