HVAC Blend Door

Anyone around the Tampa area ever fix one of these?

I think I have this problem, it's at a shop to be inspected, and they won't fix if it's this issue, I hear the dealerships charge around $2k. They pull windshield and dash out. Some have done this by cutting under the dash to access the door.

If anyone has done one of these and needs some money..... let me know.

Thanks,
Jim

Search the forums, this will be the 5th or 6th time covered. There is a video
that shows how to cut it out, and replace it.

I read the posts, I am looking for someone in the area that has done it and would be willing to fix mine. Make some money, and save me some money. Don't feel comfortable tackling this myself.

Okay, in case someone stumbles onto this post and is looking for what I was, I paid $710 out the door. They do the cut through the bottom, no dash pull, Christian Brothers Automotive, in Brandon FL. They seem to have done a great job, I just picked it up. PM me if there are any questions.

Hey bro. I also live in Tampa and my 2015 Chevy Camaro needs the Blend door replacement. So you said the shop in Brandon charged you 710 dollars?

I live in Sebring and am not sure if the door is the problem.
It blows weak cool air after blowing hot air.
How can I be sure? I tried charging some 134a......didn't seem to take hardly any.

Good info even though my '10 SS blend door has been fine. I never touch the controls.
Just leave the temp control a notch above the blue dot. I'm not sure if this really works
like some here have suggested. I'm In SW Florida.

In my own experience, it has been working very well. I use mine fairly regularly, living in my particular area of the country. Spring through fall.
