Kooks stepped headers vs ARH ...??
Which header would you guys recommend
Kooks stepped 1 3/4 - 1 7/8 or ARH 1 7/8 ? Does Kooks stepped headers make more power than the regular 1 7/8 from ARH ? ( both set ups with high flow cats ) Thanks in advance guys.

This is a good question, however, it's difficult to honestly answer this since each car is different. Someone would have to chime in that has had both in their car.

The Kooks stepped setup makes 10hp more than the standard kooks 1 7/8, per MarylandSpeed's website.

Believe it or not, I was in the same boat. I'm going with ARH because their shop is only 20mi from me, so I can get a great deal on parts/install. Honestly, I doubt it's a HUGE difference between the two, if any. I'd say toss it up to price.

Lucky you lol , I won't say any names of vendors but I got a quote on the ARH with cats for 1087 shipped vs 1400 for the kooks stepped headers with cats shipped. Those prices sound to be correct to you? Idk if those are good or regular deals.

Especially since shipping is already included. I'd say you're definitely dealing with the right vendors.

you really can't go wrong with either...
I've got ARH and love them but I don't think you'll be disappointed with Kooks. shop around there are some good deals on both companies around here. If all else fails, Give each company a call and see whom you'd rather do business with... You may want to add Stainless Works to the list as well.

I don't think the 1-3/4" to 1-7/8" Step Headers are going to provide 10 additional RWHP over a straight 1-7/8" header myself... It might do so on an otherwise stock SS but once you start doing more you'd rather have the 1-7/8". We sale and install the KOOKS as well as the ARH and they are both EXCELLENT headers!! I choose the KOOKS 1-7/8" with cats for my Camaro for a few reasons but you honestly can't go wrong with either.
That price is VERY LOW on the ARH, they must need to move some inventory or you're missing something... Does that include cats as well? If so and they are new that is an AWESOME deal! Good luck either way and my vote is KOOKS 1-7/8". Kind regards, Jordan Priestley 888.308.6007 |
