Thumbs up Absolutely - ignition on dash

I've ALWAYS disliked it on the steering column. I know the reason, but some cars are coming out with it back on the dash, so it isn't required for security/anti-theft reasons.

With the economics of GM and the pressure to be more fuel efficient I doubt there will be any significant change in the engine options, body (hidden headlights) or offerings of things GM isn't already doing in other cars. That still leaves us with HUD, heated/cooled seats, Nav, memory seats (very handy) and keyless entry that should be fairly easy to put on. As for the NAV, the only unit I would want is the one from the CTS. It is really an Alpine unit and offers iPod integration and buffering of live radio. The one from the Enclave doesn't offer iPod integration, just the Aux in. I doubt they will offer t-tops just because of the limited demand. To stay alive GM must offer options that are widely desired and in packages so they have fewer variations to deal with on the assemply line. I remember the days when EVERYTHING was a check box on the order form. It must have been a nightmare in the factory. Limiting the variations cuts costs and increases quality, because there are fewer places to mess up an order.

Cool

Regarding the old days when every option was just a check box away, many Camaros were sold because of the way the car could be personalized. The industry is different now and specifically GM must make money. With that said, we still want to personalize our cars straight from GM. Stripes and wheels - work with Foose. Seats - houndstooth and Recaro - no brainers. And for those of us who have been PATIENTLY waiting on the Z28, let me delete weighty options to increase the performance.

I'd vote for the Recaro seats,
Painted Stripes,
HUD & leather independent options,
Electronic suspension control would be a super nice bonus!

But most important:
Offer the LS3 with the Auto Trans!

The last post of this thread was 18 months ago. Why not start a new post?

I would say:

1) allow the connect package (USB, wheel controls) on the SS1. (LT1 gets this option, why not SS1?)
2) don't allow 20" wheels on V6 (to distinguish the SS, also V6 brakes look silly through the 20" (or 21" !! wheels)
3) drop leather alltogether OR put more leather in the car (rear seats, headrests, etc).

Since this was a long dead speculation thread, I think it would be best if it gets closed
