The new Stellantis (Dodge) Hurricane Twin Turbo
The first shoe has dropped in the move to replace the Hemi V8.
https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...specs-details/ Stellantis revealed the SO and HO versions of their Inline 6-cylinder twin turbo. The SO version is rated at 400 hp, 450 lb-ft (bye bye 5.7L Hemi) and the HO is rated at 500 hp, 475 lb-ft (you too 6.4L) Hope to get some hands on time with them at the New York Auto Show in a couple weeks.

Thanks for posting this...been waiting for this news to drop. I don't know what it is, but I really like the idea of an inline 6. I'd be perfectly happy running that in one of my future rides.
Also to note: the article states the S.O. version "will deliver more than" that much power, and same for the H.O. version..."will deliver more than" that much power. Says 87 octane works fine for the S.O. version, although 91 recommended. I wonder what the HP/TQ penalty will be then? That's a bit of a bummer that it sounds like you'll have to give up some top end power if you want to run regular full in the standard output engine. H.O. requires 91.

And people complain about the low redline of pushrod motors......
5800 RPM for the SO and 6100 RPM for the HO..... That is turbo 4 banger low...... |

So, will the new "Hellcat" get the H.O. version with hybrid/elec. motor assist to get to 700+ hp?
I can live with a performance hybrid if that is our future, if it's tuned for a sports car. Although I'm not near as enamored with the inline 6 sound as many others are.
