Unhappy Power steering too heavy !! please need help

Dear All

I'm new member here, before posting my issue whether if the is the right section or net, I've read thousand of threads here looking for the same issue but no clear answers found.

My issue is that the steering wheel is too much heavy and recently starts making zip noise when turning right or left.

By the way I've changed the power pump with pulley as well as the steering rack but nothing changed.

I'm here asking for your valuable feedback and your experience for such as this issue.

My car is V6 2012 2LT/RS

Regards

Was it bled correctly? I do not know the correct way to bleed them. There is a correct way to fill that system to get all the air out.

Does your power steering pump have a resevouire on it?

It will be in your owners manual where to add fluid.

I think so, as i have revised the owners manual i've found that they said it hydraulic steering assist & reservoir.

I have heared that after changing the steering pump and rack i've to pull the air out? is that correct and how?

Thank you again Dimitrim

With the engine off, fill up the resevoire to the maximum level. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and right lock to lock three times. Top off the reservoir. Start the engine and do the same thing with the steering wheel all the way to the left all the way to the right lock to lock three times. Turn off engine top off reservoir. Turn on engine repeat lock to lock. Turn engine off top off reservoir. Start engine, lock to lock, turn off engine, keep doing this till you can't add anymore fluid to the reservoir and the noise should stop. The zip noise should stop. Go for a drive, check the fluid level after that drive.

Recheck the fluid level after 300 miles.

You should be good to go.

You have to turn the key to the "on" position, but not start.

There should not be any leaks anywhere. They will need to replace the high pressure hose/pipe. Then bleed the system of all air again. That zip noise you hear are small air bubbles.

Keep us posted.

Good Luck
