Well, I had removed my VTC like y'all said I should. Sometime last week. And now this morning on my way to work, my CEL is back on. Gonna have to get it read.

I had the same issue quite often when I had the VTC, ended up getting rid of it. Since getting rid of it I got a ported throttle body and haven't had the issue. Hope this helps

While you're there, you should just go ahead and get a coder. You can get a simple one that will read and clear codes for under $50.

If the code comes out 2128 again then check the harness to the throttle body for any loose wires in the connector. Also check the blade to make sure it's clean and operating properly, not sticking or the like. Check the wires and connections for the pedal assembly as well.

Of course this code can be anything until you get it read.

Did it go into reduced power, or just light up MIL?

I had the same thing happen with my 2013 Camaro 2SS automatic, while under warranty. They ended up replacing the throttle body. No more reduced engine power.

If the APP dtc returned after removal of the VTC, it is either wiring to the accelerator pedal position sensor, or the sensor itself (the whole go-pedal), or unlikely but still a possibility it could be the ECM. It will not be a throttle position sensor (TB)or related wiring. I have replaced a few APPs on various GM vehicle over the years. There is also the possibility of water in a connector as outlined in tsb #07-06-04-019E

I would replace it with a new factory throttle body. Drive it for a month and see if the problems come back. If they don't come back you can have that one ported.

Six months after installing the VTC, we got the same CEL message on our 2013 2SS , we were told that we had a bad throttle body position sensor. So we had the sensor replaced and were told if it happens again to remove the VTC. Sure enough, 2 days after the sensor was replaced we got the "Reduced Engine Power" CEL again. Once we removed the VTC, we never got the CEL again.
