Do you have a video of the 2.8 dyno running at 8-10 psi? Just want to hear it! I also want the blower to SCREAM

Yeah - I've seen Terminators at our track running easy 10s, and the whine from the supercharger was louder than the full off-road exhaust! I LOVE IT! I think I'd prefer a good amount of whine, but I'm not too sure how much exactly.

As far as why KB over Whipple, I know that KB's new 3.6 and 4.2L are a different design and two of the most striking changes are the different rotor designs and the independent cooling circuit for the front gearset. Read the complete thread for the changes Also, there are good articles in MM&FF and 5.0 Mustang & FF. Those are good write-ups and will at least give you and idea on the changes.

You know, this is going to be a tough pick though. BOTH companies (KB and Whipple) have excellent products and they are both perfectionist. I suggest wait till Whipple releases info too. They are close and I'm sure they will have a great product too.

p.s. As Radz said, that new cooling system is very attractive and plays a strong role in the life of the rotors.

It depnds on who you ask..

In my opinion, the company that R&D's their own product, is at the forefront of design, uses the latest technology, and gives you the absolute best product for the money, is the product i would go with.

Wether that is KB or Whipple, is up to you.

I can tell you this

KB:
  • Has their own pateted head units
  • Uses CNC'd Solid Billet 6061 Aluminum Head Units
  • Uses the latest, and most advanced rotor designs
  • Saves cast parts for their inlets, and not the blowers
  • Hard Annodizes everything, and does not powdercoat or paint
  • Owns Their own Chassis Dyno, Engine Dyno, Blower Dyno, 2 Flow Benches (You would be amazed at who doesnt own these)
  • Durability tests all parts for years prior to release
  • Is the ONLY compay that has a watercooled head unit
  • Is the ONLY company with a patented vent valve on their head unit
  • Has the Largest PD blowers in the country for road going vehicles
  • Is the only twin screw company in the US that builds complete turn key twin screw blower kits for the GM lineup in house.
  • Is THE leader in Ford supercharger applications. They are the undisputed kings in that arena.
For the dollar spent, the quality of parts in a KB can not be touched by any other top mount blower in the industry.. They are the ONLY company to offer solid billet CNC'd head units.

But then again, everyone has their preference, and they will all make you p!zz your pants..

I'm trying hard to like it, but the rear inlet is really turning me off.

What is the reason for that? If it's not too much of an ignorant question to ask.

Do you have pricing on a polished unit with a polished Intake tube? Also, Since I have Long tubes and Catless midpipes will this be considered when you send the tune? or All tunes gonna be the same?

I remember reading something about the side shaft that runs from the front belt to turing the blower at the back uses more power than not doing it that way.

As for the rear inlet, I also saw something saying that there's a turn in your intake path on the front feeds before the TB, the rear feeds just move it after the TB so that really doesn't affect anything aside from looks.

Personally I don't like the look of the rear feed but I can live with it
