Thanks, I hope to bring a set to Solo Nationals. Nothing like a new setup at Lincoln.

Luckily the RE-71R has a super stiff sidewall. It'll handle being pinched on a wheel much better than most.

A decent comp is what the guys in 2016 Camaros are doing. They are running 275/35/19 RE-71R on 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear.
Great for them. 275-35-19 on the back of my car = major trouble or drive like grandma. On another note my 19x9.5" wheels at 22lbs = a killer autocross car.

Received my tires earlier this week. Really looking forward to see how they perform in the next autocross in September.

Looking good. What's your wheel setup?

JusticePete, what is your opinion on running a 305/30 on a 10" wide wheel (for autocross/road course purposes)? Too wide? Just right?

They show a 10.5 minimum rim width for the 305/30/19 RE-11. I would think that would be the same for the RE-71. Better to drop down a size and have a tighter fitting tire than a sloppy larger tire.

This^^^ I would much rather have crisp turn in than a wider tire. The grip is close enough with those sizes that the slow responsiveness will be the determining factor. That's my opinion, and I have run pinched tires a lot. 305 on a 10" zl1 wheel, very unresponsive turn in.

In an autocross setting, if you were restricted to 10" front 11" rear wheels, would it be better to run a square 305/30R-19 and have unresponsive turn in, or 285/35R-19 front 305/30R-19 rear and have similar issues with understeer?

Asking for a friend.

Square is best. But you can tune out most of the understeer of a staggered setup with more rear sway bar, or so I've heard. To be honest a 285 square setup would probably be best of both worlds

285 square RE-71Rs is the setup that I've been running for this entire season, but it's very stretched on the 11" wheels (although within spec). The rear end feels VERY loose, I'm constantly fighting that oversteer.

decisions, decisions...

What tire pressures? I would think you could play with your pressure to get some grip back in the rear. A car that rotates is almost always faster

Yeah, that's what I've had to do. I run the rears really low, usually at around 30psi. Fronts at around 31psi.
