Replacing Battery 16 2SS
Car is 1-1/2 years old and I live in Phoenix. All is still good but this is about all they last here because of heat. Is there a procedure because of the electrical system or is it straight forward.

Step 1) buy new battery at autozone
step 2) let the guy working there change it step 3) profit step 4) ??? It's no different than any other car except for it's in the trunk. The good thing is autozone and orilles have a device that will keep power to your car during the change, that way your presets aren't lost.

test it. if its still good, not sure I'd bother. or throw a trickle charger over night to get it back up to snuff. Otherwise, it should still be in warranty.

Scot, It's straight forward.
in the trunk on passenger side. if it still under warranty GM will give you a new one at the dealership. either go with the car or if you take it out, they may need to test it and even try charging it for hours to determine if it is dead. if it is dead, the warranty should cover it totally. seen you have a 2016 so it seems you are within the 3 years and most likely 36,000 miles. Scot, also watch letting these cars sit in the garage for over 2 weeks without driving it unless hooked up to a battery tender.
you can also just disconnect the Negative battery cable if you don't want to use a tender. |

Brought it to the dealer and 2-1/2 hours later they told me it was fine. This is wifey's daily driver and my weekend warrior. Car is driven everyday. We get about a day's notice here when batteries die. So this is chalked up as maintenance. Bought a Duracell 48 H6 from Sam's that comes with a 3 year warrenty.
