I'm sure it was a safe, loving dog

Sad for the lady and the baby.

"A necropsy scheduled for Friday would seek to retrieve the bullets as well as examine stomach contents and tissue samples to establish whether the dog was correctly implicated in the attack."

hmm. I'm wondering if they have reason to believe something else? Husband did it and covered the dog with blood?

You have to read the whole thing. There were TWO dogs and they want to make sure they put the right one down.

Having a pet pit bull is like having a loaded shotgun pointed at you at all times. Eventually, you will probably do the wrong thing and get killed. I am sad to read about this tragedy, and hopefully future pit bull owners are dissuaded from caring for a murderous beast instead of a genuine pet.

I know there will be a lot of people to disagree with this, but it would be almost like having a pet Lion or Tiger. If anyone has had a cat you know they can be sweet and all, but when they are done with you at that moment, they may get aggressive towards you. A little cat, not problem, a Tiger, a big problem.

I don't get why people have these dogs, they obviously wouldn't let Charlie Manson stay at their house, or would they.

Most people have no clue how to train or raise a dog. They shouldn't be allowed to own any dog let alone a pit. I have a Pit and he is a very smart and obedient dog. I've trained him over the years to no I am in charge. I have had other dogs and even cats walk through the yard and he never even growls. I know these dogs have a bad rep but I love mine as he is a great pet and my wife instantly grew to love him once we started dating.

Maybe that's the bigger picture. We need dog control legislation and enforcement. If you aren't going to properly train or raise your dog, you shouldn't have one for the dog's safety, your safety, and that of your neighbors and visitors.
