Was told yesterday at the dealer by the Services Manager the Z/28 was discontinued and no plans for a gen 6 model, If you can find one you better by one if you want a Z/28

Im sure they would say anything to sell them at this point and why would they? There isn't a huge market for 70k+ Camaro.Like I told the salesman I talked to the other day,The 6th gen is coming out and the GT350 hitting the market in the next month or so makes it an even harder sell. The ones in the showroom here have been sitting for a year.To top that there are 55+ within 200 miles and some dealers are sitting on 3-5 of them.I told my dealer just like I will tell all of them, when you can get to say 50-55k call me,other wise I'll just go buy a GT350 that makes more hp and has more technology for that. What ever the sticker is and what ever reason they think it worth it simply comes down to supply and demand. If they don't come down further on price they will just sit end of story.

If anyone thinks they will be able to buy a GT350 or a GT350-R at list price is dreaming, IF you can find a dealer that will take your order for one. The final price will be close to $20,000 to $25,000 over list and that is IF you can find one of these Mustangs, JMO.

Same song different car, there are many dealers that will sell for MSRP.Same was said about Zl1's,Z/28's,Z06's and past GT500's.

Correct me if I'm wrong isn't the GT350 and GT350R, essentially as mythical beast until model year 2016.

Wouldn't you be looking at at least 18 months before you could get your hands on one?

2015 Shelby GT350 Production Numbers:

Ford says that they will produce only 37 Shelby GT350R Mustangs in 2015 and they will only create 100 Shelby GT350 models for 2015.

That means that 137 GT350R and GT350s will be made in 2015.

The 2015 GT350 has a $15k MVA (Market Value Adjustment) and is available starting at $65,000. Some dealerships were attempting a $20k MVA.

The 2015 GT350R has a $25k MVA and is available starting at $90,000. However, most of the dealerships I talked to around the country were vetting interested parties and planning a special event auction via private invite. Final auction price was expected to be 100k+.

They can say whatever they want and ask whatever they want, like I said supply and demand. Also if someone wants to pay that much over MSRP by all means go ahead. This year they aren't suppose to produce that many but nothing is written in stone.Just like some trying to mark up the Z/28 was about to hit the market, but look at the prices now. There comes a point when you have a market rich in bad ass cars, there are many options for the consumer .Do you really think someone would buy a gt350 for the same price they can get a c7 Z06 or viper, doubt it.

Why not... guys were buying Hellcats for ~$80K after MVA was added. Some don't care about $$$, they care about being the first with the new shiny toy.

I didn't say someone would get the first one at MSRP or within 3-6 months.Just like the Z/28 if the dealers put a 70k+ price tag on them they won't sell.If someone would have said a year ago they would be selling the Z/28's at 15-20k off MSRP they would have them they were crazy. There are at least 50 within 200 miles of me in 57-59k range that are sitting on lot with out a buyer in site. Its not some unicorn car,all of the cars sell for or less than MSRP once the hype is over.

First edition limited almost by invite only Shelby/Cobra Mustang? All day long and twice on Sundays.

Did you skip the lecture on the history of Mustang? Select recent model GT500's are 125k+ right now used, had a 50k MSRP and a 25k MVA.

And I'm sure the ones for 125k are still for sale because no one is going to pay it.You can find very low mile 14' 15' GT500's as in less than 5k some even less than 2k form 49-57k,that's before any negotiation. Also to be honest I'd pay that for a 660+ hp car from the factory. If they were some sought after car they would already be sold. These are 14's and 15's not 60s models cars. They might call them a "collector" but they are nothing more than hype.I can understand a mint 60's and some 70's era cars worth crazy money, because they are true collector items.Everyone keep talking about the GT350sproduced this year as I've already addressed that, they are slated to make 5k+ GT350s next year not the R version, that being said they will sell for MSRP.
