1LE down, maybe!!!!

Well first road trip in the car and not so good. Got half way to Vegas and lost oil pressure!!!! All temps and pressure were normal up to this point. Let her cool down and pressure came back. We got to Vegas and she is at the dealer for service. Question did the 1LE have different baffling or pick ups for oil? I hope they can get it identified and fixed in the next couple days so I can get home!!!! Currently in a rental and drinking my sorrows away!!! Err I mean

What oil are you running? I've heard of people describing exactly this when driving in high temp conditions with Mobil 1.

I am running Mobil 1 but I also ran a track day when the temps were 104 in June with no issues. Yesterday was about 90 and just normal highway driving

Did it go to 0? Hopefully it's just a bad sensor.

Yeah tell me about it. I was nervous as all heck finishing the drive this morning. If they dont find anything and just change the oil I am going to be a wreck driving home back to San Diego Saturday especially since I have the family with me!!!

Yes went to 0 and I know it was not a sensor as the lifters were going dry and ticking progressivly louder until the pressure came back and it quited right down.

I have heard of oil pump failures with these cars in another thread; I wonder if it is related to that. Someone lost an engine at the track due to pump failure.

Sounds like the sticky relief valve (oil pump) that was an issue with the early LS3 Camaros.

It could very well be that.

Hopefully nothing really bad.

I will update when I find out. My fear is they won't reproduce and just change the oil. Will be a nervous ride home if that's the case. I see a melling in my near future and might as well cam it while I am at it.

Wonder if any codes were captured that prove you had a pressure loss issue?
Let us know how they address this.

Last night when it happened On Star ran a diagnostic and did not see it. I would hope that it is in there some where that maybe the dealer can find.
