I installed E-trac on my trailer and use wheel net style straps. This allows me to get the ratchet device out from under the car, front and rear… My car, and a bunch I haul (Vettes) are lowered so this is helpful…
I strongly prefer tying the wheel/tire down rather than the suspension/chassis… Let the suspension work… and I feel there is much less shock to the tie down components. If something loads the suspension to the point the straps loosen momentarily, then the car rebounds, is hit the straps pretty hard… There are different schools of thought but this has worked well for me…

No matter the method you use you can't go wrong with MAC'S straps and accessories. Great stuff. I cinch the Z/28 down with the ZL1 Addons frame mounted strap points. I go through the wheels with my C5 Z06. Above mentioned net style is very good also. Just don't go with cheap s#!t equipment as it's highly desirable to have your car remain on the trailer for the entire journey.

I use T-Hooks that fit into oblong holes in the frame on all 4 corners. This is what some towing companies and car haulers use to tie down with. It pulls the frame of the car down and keeps the suspension from bouncing while towing.
There is nothing wrong with the over the wheel strap set ups either. Just a preference on which one to use. Here is a link to the T-hooks https://www.macscustomtiedowns.com/s...hook/p/340003/ MACS straps will be my next purchase to use here before too long.

When I strap mine down, I go into the slots on the front cross-member, and then I grab the slots in the rear control arms. It would be tricky to reach those front slots on a lowered car - but on my monster truck it's no issue.
I try to avoid strapping through the wheel and to a spoke - this is a recipe for a loose strap, as unless that wheel is in the prefect spot it still has the potential to slip and turn if enough force is applied to it. And even with anti-marring sleeves its' still pretty easy to scuff up the wheel. Strapping over top of the wheel with the right size wheel net works fine if you've setup right to use them.

I think I am going to order axle traps and tire nets, See which I like better. I don't want to damage or mark anything up .

Always use the the transport points with t-hooks on both cars and never any issues. I may upgrade my trailer to e-track some day and get tire tie downs.
