2010 Camaro ss Engine upgrades

So I went to Hennessy website and got quoted for a 600rwhp upgrade for 24,000 dollars!! When they really only only changed about 4 parts. Which was the High Flow Fuel Injector, Camshaft, Upgraded Valve Train Parts, Ported Cylinder Heads, and a 2.9 supercharger. I was thinking i could do this for a lot less by finding the parts my self.

for the Cam i was thinking a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Texas Speed LS3 Stage 3 Supercharged Camshaft unless you guys have better options.

but for the rest of the parts i don't really know who to trust and where to buy them from. If you guys could help out with that than thanks. No real price vaule just nothing stupidly priced.

Also i have heard once your doing 600+ to the back wheels you should upgrade your converter and also the back gears is this true?

Hennessey has to be the highest price you could pay of all shops. They have a rep, a name, etc. Still, a FI build is gonna cost you my friend. You could have a NA 520rwhp+ build for less than 10k. Shop around. You havent pick a bargain shop lol

Look to GPI for their Max Kit.

There are of course other shops than Hennesey….its paying for a name like Nickey ; Callaway etc....which charge a large premium for their service when you would be money ahead at places that are about cranking them out not a foo foo boutique, say place like Livernois or tamp tuning etc...and location your in I would look into Gwatney. Most places in packages do not even upgrade suspension components just charge a lot for a blower and LOGO...for a "Auto Boutique" kind of tuner that's big $$$ well most don't have that kind of $$$$ to throw out there to impress their Yuppie friends...… LOL Parts vendors on here can be referenced from many posts and Texas Speed is good, as are many places. Lingenfelter good, and many more....cam motion, tick, etc etc etc Yes strapping on the biggest blower on a stock engine basically not forged not so good to make more hp, it can be accomplished by many with just the 2.3 and a LSA conversion for much cheaper.....much much cheaper.... Just some thoughts don't bite at the first shiny object...Good Luck

https://www.hotrod.com/articles/hrdp...parts-failure/ a good old article all should know here as its one of the best for those modding.

If you can get your car to JDP in Utah, and they will pickup and deliver for about .50/ mile which is cheap. A SLP s/c is about 7800, cam and top of the line valvetrain is around 3500 with tune. Best Chevy shop out there imo, does all my car work along with a lot of omy other race buddy’s

Well now I'm just thinking ill get a stage 4 cam which will require new lifters, and stall converter. which should be around 2,000-2,500 with install. No tune yet. And then maybe a small turbo for around 3,000 if that is possible or even worth it? Is that worth it for a small turbo? or do they even have good ones for that price? I would like to get 130 hp from the turbo if thats possible for one that price? or would it be worth spending my money on something else.

Give kevin a call. Keep your stock cam and still get the power you are looking for.

Firehawk sounds like you with your budget should do the LSA conversion (1.9), in many threads on here, your light on the cam and converter budget that's more like just the parts cost.....more reasonable to say 4 grand for those with install......you have to pull heads on a l99, added PITA for a l99, then new lifters and buckets and AFM delete change over the cam from l-99 to one with VVT or a ls3 type and change out the cam phaser etc.....and don't forget a dyno tune with hp tuning usually around $500 included in the install.....Believe me it adds up. Add just the costs of the parts; new lifters, new pushrods, new cam and phaser, new lifter baskets, new head gaskets, new tty head bolts, new cam gear, new springs and retainers, rocker trunnion upgrade?, stock pump ok for l99, but better timing chain? requires expert at sneaking in pan or dropping front cradle...and you want them to separate the trans and reinstall......with new converter$$ , the theres the new balancer bolt, the new front cover gaskets, new a/c charge on most, new radiator fluid a couple oil changes with filter, dyno tune...… And yes I use the best I can a br30 driven racing break in oil and dyno break in for 20-30 minutes.... etc its just a lot of costs.

Hennessy not worth the money.

And if you send your car to them, you're as likely to get your car back in a year or two in pieces as you are to getting a finished product.

Jus' sayin'...… #shittycustomerservice
