Flat black vinyl stripe crackling

Just got my car back from window tinting and vinyl stripe installation and
the stripes are horrible. They seem to have a wavy crackling effect allover.
Is this normal? Bought them from RiderGraphix btw.

No, dropped the car and came back later. They are top notch for window tinting thou. Left them with the instructions and squeege that came with the stripes. Install method error? how?

may be good at window tint, but not so good with vinyl.

True, but they are both applied with water and a squegee.
I thought that if most of the aftermarket stripes where applied by DYI'ers,
it would be a no brainer for anybody. What's the secret?

So I take that this effect is not normal, and it's a istallation error and in no way it's the vinyl defect?

Did your installer dry squeegee the stripes prior to installing them? This effect can sometimes happen if the transfer tape pulls away from the top of the graphics during shipping and the tape is not properly flat on the stripes during installation.

The good news is, that with a couple days of them sitting in the sun, most of it should go away.

Thanks. Maybe the 3 months they where laying around didn't help either.
And sun is something we have a lot in PR.

Keeping them rolled up that long is probably the main reason it happened.
