wow! 650hp for 54k?!?! thats a screamin deal!! the track pack would be cool and all but those coolers would probably just be dead weight for anybody who doesnt take their car on a road course.

Even in base trim, i think the fact that what the GT500 offers vs the ZL1, its pretty much even.

Base ZL1, you get a more advanced suspension and coolers.

GT500, you get a way more powerful/stronger engine.

Bottom line, everyone keeps saying in base form the Shelby you have to add options to be equivalent to the ZL1. Well where is the option to make the ZL1 equivalent to the Shelby's 650HP?

Both cars have their advantages in base trim. Im just glad there is one less thing we have to speculate about...

You will see alot of people on here just adding and adding to the price for no apparent reason. more arguments like "oh well you have to add this and that and..." no you don't have to add anything if you don't want to. MSRP is $54,200 that's it.

Who the heck wants coolers anyway if your not going to a roadcourse?

I think this business about the coolers is getting blown way out of proportion if you ask me.

Base vs Base, i hate to say it, but on the street/strip the ZL1 is gonna get smoked period... Believe me all the videos of these two cars going at it once they get in private owners hands are gonna be roll races on the highway, from a dig on the streets, and on the strip. What's gonna be the argument about when all those videos are posted? Well, so what the Z got owned, it comes standard with coolers?...

With about a 1/2 tank of gas or under, it will be well into the 3700lb range...

Agreed, the 5.8 didn't add that much weight from what I've read.
Way under the 4,000+ lb estimate from camaro 5 pro's.

You can say what you want but I would prefer that car that is setup for track abuse even if I don't use it. Something is wrong about the former GT500 owner siding with the ZL1. LOL

You would pay an extra 3 grand for something you won't use?
lol that doesn't sound like a savvy shopper, you can buy a daily driver with the extra 3 grand for petes sake.

Bottom line is a base gt500 won't be slower than a PP GT500, other stuff is just as it's name implies *options*
