How many firsts is owning the 5th gen Camaro for you? Here's my firsts:

I don't know exactly how to make this a first, but the FIRST car I ever really really really wanted was a 67 Camaro. I was about 10 years old and the lust never faded. The 2010 Camaro is the FIRST one I've seen since that held a candle to the 67-69 models in over all coolness factor.

In 1977 my Dad had a used 69 Camaro that was a "beater" that I got to drive a few times. I was crushed when he sold it. I was in college and couldn't afford to buy it. I swore at that time that someday I would buy a Camaro that I loved and no one would be able to sell it out from under me.

Then comes along the 2010 Camaro - the first car that made my jaw drop when I saw it since the late 60's Camaros. I told my husband, I'm going to be shallow and selfish and stupid. I am going to buy one of these. This is the FIRST expensive item I've ever purchased that was just a "toy" for me. I put myself through college, got a Ph.D., and I just got promoted to the rank of "Professor" (first woman ever to do that in my department). The Camaro is the FIRST really selfish and extravagant thing I've ever purchased and it's a pat on the back from me to me. I ordered a CGM 2SS RS on November 9 and I can't wait to get it.

Sorry if that was too long, but I am so excited to be getting this car. I think only people here who are as obsessed with these cars as I am can understand this feeling. Thanks for letting me share.

Wow! Congratulations on your promotion, very cool, and you DO deserve this car! You will love it! I too kinda gave myself a reward by buying my SS and my wife even said "go for it, you deserve it!" Hey, I guess I can include that on my list of firsts!

same here for me except it was a 69. and I was 8 years old when i fell in love with it.

my 1st car that gets crazy attention (first day I had it I brought it by my buddys job to show him, hes a manager at McD's, and the emplyees came out to check it out...one of the girls turned to me and asked me if I had a g/f hahaha)

Not my first car, not my first new car, not my first GM, not my first car financed by me, not the fastes car, but it is the first car I've ever had that has drawn as much attention. I had in a local parade and I'll bet you it had it's picture taken at least 100 times. Everywhere we go with it, everyone want's to ask you a bunch of questions about it. I do believe that it is the best design GM has come up with in a long time.
