Pic request: Imperial Blue Metallic / Aqua Blue Metallic - Page 3 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I'm beginning to wonder if the Aqua Blue Metallic is kind of like Red Jewel when it come to the lighting really messing with how the color appears. When I looked at ABM in person, it was on a clear sunny cloudless morning and it had way more green than I thought it would. Kind of like Red Jewel is way more red when it's in the sun and more like dark maroon/burgundy when it's overcast.

As for the ZR1, it's plastic so there's no need to worry about it rusting from being out in the rain.

thats aqua blue right off a 07 c6 vette. imo if such a sexy color

That's not aqua blue that jetstream blue metallic.

I would agree, however it only shows that hint of green in direct sunlight even off to the sides of the sunlit patch on the car is all blue. I can see why they call these colors they way they do, one does resemble water while the jetstream does resemble the sky.

While the zr1 might not rust that paint isn't enjoying water just slowly evaporating on it and those rotors will be nice and nasty when someone does come by to look at the car. IMO don't see how they can even live with theirselves putting that thing out there like that, should be inside on the showroom floor, they are probably asking 150k+ for it. I know you were just kidding but I'm kinda pissed how they are treating it...

No need to worry about the rotors rusting either, they're carbon ceramic on the ZR1. Now the paint is another story, no telling what kind of crap was pulled out of our polluted air as the rain came down.

I took 3 photos of aqua blue at different times of day, sunny and overcast. They all look different. Don't see green in it tho.

Can I get some people's opinions on putting Imperial Blue striping on Aqua Blue Camaro??? Will this color combo look good or should I just stick with black, my original choice? HELP!!

Personally, I think I would prefer black, but it's really probably pretty close one way or another. IBM is very dark and I've mistaken it for black several times.

I've attached a quick photoshop I did of rally stripes with an older picture of my car. Beneath that is my car with its black rally stripes.

Thanks for the help. I have to tell my dealer tomorrow what I want so he can have it done for Sat. pickup. I originally said I wanted a whole different blue color for the stripe for that very reason -- IBM is too dark. He said he can custom mix any color but was concerned to do that if I ever needed paint work in the future. I'm trying to get a pretty blue to complement the ABM that looks truly blue, not black like IBM. Sounds like I'm gonna be out of luck.

PS -- You live in Charleston!!! I am sooo jealous. I went to that city years ago and fell in love with it. It is so charming and neat. I would LOVE to see any pics of your car with different areas of Charleston as the back drop.
