What type of maintenance should I give my 2013 RS? (97,000 miles)
I have a 2013 RS with 97K miles on it. For the most, part I have not had any issues with the engine. I just replaced the battery last month because my previous was shot. In addition, I also got all new tires last week. I have been consistent with oil changes every 5-7K miles.
What other things do you suggest I have done to ensure the longevity of my car? I think spark plugs are the next thing up. Does anyone have any suggestions as I approach 100K miles and 8 years with this vehicle? |

Coolant change, trans fluid drain, axle fluid change and bleed the brakes with new brake fluid should about cover it. Power steering fluid change, but I don't think that is critical like the other items I mentioned above.
Oh, maybe a new air filter and cabin filter too. |

I guess it's more understandable when its a new member who doesn't realize how thing work here and that these are questions that have been asked hundreds of times already.
But when its someone that has been here for years and has hundreds or thousands of posts....

I don't know why Vegas is having meltdowns over a maintenance post. Around here, you get endless 'what the best exhaust' threads and stupid 'what's your other car' posts which can get mindnumbingly boring at times.

I rather hear the opinions of the members here who have driven these cars daily for hundreds of thousands of miles rather than the people who wrote the book.

Vegas always has some solid advice on tons of issues, probably just having fun seriously doubt any ill will meant.

97,500 Mile Service
(Estimate: $491 - $673) Related Services & Repairs Tire Replacement Brake Pad Replacement Brake Pad/Rotor Change Coolant Replacement Drive Belt Replacement Auto Transmission Service Cabin Filter Replacement Timing Belt Replacement The 97,500 mile service is a minor service. Your next service will be the 105,000 Mile Service and some vehicles will require a timing belt, so be prepared for an expensive service next time in the shop. This service generally involves an oil and filter change, tire rotation, and a safety inspection. While changing the oil, the mechanic will be performing visual inspections of the brakes, belts and hoses, inspecting for any fluid leaks, listening for any abnormal noises, and paying attention to any irregularities in the operation of the vehicle. Possible Repairs Needed at the 97,500 Mile Service It's not uncommon on some vehicles to start seeing the wear and tear items like the Drive Belts and Hoses, Motor Mounts and Suspension Bushings starting to show signs of wear. Oil leaks may start to appear as well. Your next service is going to be expensive, so any repairs made now will lessen the chance of having to add on o that expense. Check out the Common Problems page for your vehicle so you can have some idea as to what the future may hold for you and your vehicle. |
