Sealing a cracked block
Noticed coolant leaking after my engine was rebuilt/installed and traced it back to the bell housing. Checked all hoses, head gaskets, bolts, steam tube plugs, etc, and this is what it has been narrowed down to. Pulled the in the bell housing above the starter and coolant came out. Appears to be a cracked block with no access to weld. I am planning to use the GM teflon thread sealant to try and fix it (at least temporarily). Any one else experience this or have any suggestions? Long term plan is to pull the motor and either weld it or replace the block.

Are you sure you don't have a bad head gasket ? From the pic it is hard to see. JB weld makes EXTREMEHEAT metallic paste to fix small cracks product number 37901.
