Thanks for sharing!

"A TMS pace car will set the speed limit for these single-file, no passing allowed laps. Participants who fail to comply with rules will be escorted from the track."

I haven't been in a long time. I remember when it first started, they only used one pace car to lead everyone around. Didn't take long before people were slowing down and letting the pace car get almost all the way back around before speeding up and hitting 150mph+. I had a new 2000 Trans Am at the time and was able to hit 140+ easily. It was awesome.

Someone eventually wrecked and then they started using more pace cars and being more strict about the speed.

No horsing around smokey monkey!
Gearhead, my first experience was in 1999 after I bought my '98 Formula. I was a member of the Camaro Firebird Car Club and had a hand in coordinating this event with SCC. I think I only attended one more year, but when I joined the Dallas Area Pontiac Association and tried to set one up with that club, there was no interest because the sponsor, Young Chevy as well as TMS itself was Chevrolet focused.

Pretty sure I was in the same club. I got my first Trans Am in '98(it was a '96). I remember there being a DFW club forum before LS1.com came around.

I go all the way back to the Usenet Newsgroups. alt.gm.firebird or something along those lines. That was in about 1996 when I moved to Texas and was looking for fun things to do, and is when someone in that newsgroup suggested I look into CFCC. Met Mitch Warren through LS1.com at a Friday night street night in Ennis at the Motorplex.

Yep. I know Mitch. Did you ever go to the LS1.com get togethers at Hooters in Grapevine? That was my red Firehawk in the front of this pic.

So do I need to belong to a club to attend this event?
I was looking at the registration and it asks for a Club name.

Nope. It's open to anyone that wants to go.

Gearhead, I was at this Hooters GTG in June of 2005, don't remember where this was and don't remember if it was an LS1.com GTG or a CFCC GTG:
