Ford admits that they use fake engine noise through car speakers on Mustang

I never knew that Ford along with other manufacturers broadcast fake engine noise through the vehicle audio system to make their cars sound better. Ford confirmed they do it in their Mustangs to make the engine sound meaner. So lame, lame, lame in my opinion.

I haven't found anything about GM doing this with the Camaro or on any of their cars.

Right, nothing new. And not unique to Ford either. I too was really surprised learn this about cars. ‘Sound ports’ under the dash, etc. Plenty of Mustangs sound pretty good standing on the street too. A formidable competitor, for sure.

I knew they did this with the Ecoboost version. I'm pretty sure the new Camaro's use a sound tube under the hood for engine sound which seems rather lame to me too.

Tesla is the one that needs to employ this technology. They should come up with a "synthetic" exhaust sound that sounds like the engine has a big cam. Maybe add some small volume hydraulic servos to give it a little "rowdy cam" shake to the frame too. Lol.

Yeah I noticed the date, I intentionally posted the link because of the date. It identified when Ford first admitted doing it.

It may not be new to some of you but I had no idea that manufacturers were doing this. I don't want fake engine noise to be running through my speakers, one of the craziest things I've heard in a long time. Just because some of you know about it doesn't make it ok because my guess is there are a lot more people that DON'T know about than DO know about it.

Priming the masses for electric cars with the "all new" 100% (AFES) system. Audible Fictitious Engine Sound.

Volkswagen and partners have used their Soundaktor system for years, since 2011 even.

Really? Has it come to this that we now need recordings to feel better about cars? How about improving the cars??? Have Ford and the others realized that many exhaust notes are appreciated outside of the car?????
