The crossbar has two sets of what looks like bolt holes. Is that where a race harness bolts into? Or does a harness go to the floor?

Looks good in there!

Good observation. My racing harness simply slips over the center bar...interested in finding out what that is.

The car won't...

There are some amazing people collaborating on Brandi for my mile run and that is the primary focus at this time...

Still being on the stock diff doesn't help either... If I launched hard enough to keep up with you Russ, I'ld leave lots of junk iron on the start line...

As for the boss mounts on the cage... yes, those are for the harness shoulder pieces...

A harness that goes over the shoulder and to the floor behind the seat isn't a good idea... In a hard frontal impact, the body mass moving forward causes the shoulder straps to pull down and the end effect is that the seat can break and your back is folded in half... the wrong way...

I opted for the eight point cage and as there are two door bars, there are mounts for two sets or restraints...

You are so right. An improperly mounted harness will do more harm than good. This can't be posted or mentioned too often. Great post!

My brother told me about an accident he witnessed many years ago in round-e-round where a guy had a harness mounted to the floor board behind the seat... it wasn't a pretty situation... and the driver spent the rest of his life in a wheel chair...

It's getting there Pete,

I can almost walk normally, not quite but close... Yesterday was interesting climbing in and out of the car not being able to bend it too far... I iced my knee yesterday evening when I got home and it felt pretty good today... I stayed home partially due to not wanting to push my knee too hard and due to no transportation. I'll be going to the shop tomorrow though...

I know someone enjoyed visiting with you.

Made a little more progress today working on the cage... I'ld like to talk to the person that made it almost necessary to remove the dash just to get the carpet out of these cars... I didn't go that far but I was about ready to...

One of the folllowing pictures shows the passenger side foot for the cage... There will be three bars terminating here... The door bar, the rocker bar and the front down tube...There is lots of welding to be done... Corey has intentions of getting on that Friday...

We are going to try to get to the point where at least the six point full portion will be in and I can drive it to our Friday night gathering in San Antonio... Believe it or not, it'll only take an hour or so to get the interior back in shape... The rear seat wont go back in just for a weekend of driving...

The rough looking textured stuff on the flooring sheetmetal is a sound deadening material... and it is a pain in the backside to remove...I figured out that an aggresive burr bit in a die grinder works the best...

Also is a picture of the interior with Mike looking in from the other side... He's one of our San Antonio Gang and current college student...

Please note, the Corvette in the background is on a lift, my car was sitting on the ground... make your own assumptions...

Actually my car is well off the ground...
