Oil Tempature and Level
Just noticed last night that my 2011 Camaro SS L99 is telling me the oil level is low and after letting the car idle for about 5 minutes the oil tempature gauge does not move from the minimum.
If anyone knows the GM part number for the sensor that would cause this issue please post it here. (NOTE the oil pressure gauge is reading normal levels) |

Let me start with the stupid question, did you check your oil?

Have you checked the oil level on the dipstick lately?
5 minutes of idling on a cold engine is not enough time for the oil to rise above 100 degrees (100 is the minimum on the gauge). From what I've seen, it takes a good 10 minutes of idling to see the gauge move. However, driving the car warms the oil quicker because there's a load on the engine.
