Rear Window Louvers

Trying to decide on whether to get ABS or Aluminum rear window louvers. Is one better than the other? Anybody tried them? Thanks.

There was just a recent thread on the MRT aluminum ones, which are a almost double the price, but to some worth every penny. I currently have an ABS, have had them for almost a year now. IMO, they look great and are of good quality. That being said, I am going to be getting the MRT one by the end of the year. The main reason is they are hinged and can be lifted up clean the outside the rear window. The one's I currently have are held on by 8 plastic 'nuts'. You have to remove them and remove the entire louver to clean the window.

Thanks for the quick response. I actually saw that thread just after I posted my thread. The choice seems to be aluminum (specifically) and I understand the reasoning. The only issue I have is the MRT is a bit "boring". I seen some ABS styles that are "different". I'm thinking of this one, any thoughts?

If you like that one, they also sell the side rails and front splitter to match the design so your theme can be fluent throughout. I went with ABS of another style. I had them painted and they still look like new. Not cleaning the glass is not a problem for me. But if I needed to it takes about 5 minutes to unscrew and remove. Not a big deal. The ABS are pretty light compared to the metal ones as well if that's a concern.

Thanks for the info. Was there any issue in prepping the ABS for paint or painting them? I'm kinda leaning towards the ABS as I like the different look. Thanks again.

I have these louvers on my car. I personally love them, I know a lot of people don't. I, for the same reason as you liked these bc the others seemed boring. Only issue with these is you have to remove them in order to clean the glass but that takes all of 5 mins.

Love my new rear louvers, I think they make the rear end way more aggressive!

I actually didn't paint these. Had professionally painted, but he didn't mention anything unusual and they came out perfect. Have lasted 2 years and still shine as new.

Is your roof wrapped or painted? Thinking of doing the same. If wrapped...cost??
