Is there a better tire for daily use

I know these Goodyear tire are good for taking your car to a Road Course, but they are not optimal for daily drive. It is also a really soft tire which wears quickly if doing a burnout or using for 1/4 mile launching. Has anyone changed tires yet and what were your results? I'm assuming if you change to same size as originals, it won't affect MRC? Any thoughts? Thanks!

I'll be looking for the same thing. I swapped to Michelin's (and away from Goodyear) on my 1LE. The improvement, especially in wet weather performance, was amazing. These new Goodyear's on the ZL1 may be an improvement over those on the 1LE, we will see.

I'm not found an "all season" tire that is a direct size replacement for the ZL1. It's important to me to not only have an all season tire, but to keep a respectable speed rating as well (will have to have that to run the Texas Mile).

I'm hoping tire manufactures will start making all season tires in our specific sizes, if not, I'm hoping to learn about an alternative size that causes no rubbing issues or traction control/computer problems.

I switched to the Michelin Pilot Super Sports, and it's a day and night difference in the Rain. Bad thing is they don't have a good tire tread life either, 10k to 15k or less depending on how you drive. I have been hoping that someone that switch to the BFGoodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/S would post something about them, but they don't come in our stock sizes (35 instead of 30).

Just swapped to mp4s on Friday. I avoid driving in the rain, so I can't comment on that.

I don't think the original gooodyears were annoyingly loud, but these are much quieter. Zero noise whatsoever on the highway. The Michelins absorb minor abnormalities in the road much better than the run flats. I'll need to get some more miles on them to determine how they hold up on really bumpy roads. Given that I keep mine in sport mode for the most part, it may be hard to tell but we'll see. But I can tell you in normal driving on sport mode, this thing rides like a bonafied luxury coupe...even with my car sitting on bmr lowering springs.

Steering response also seems to a tad quicker. Again, not sure if that's the new tires, new wheels, or a combo of both.

For daily driving, I don't see myself ever going back to the goodyears. imo, you can't go wrong with the Michelins.

Once my 1500 mile breakin is done, (1370 so far) I am going to burn these OKYears off of the ZL1 and put on Michelin Super Sport. I had them on the GT350 and the older PS2 on the M3. Both are better tires then OKYear can make.

Do you have pics of them on the car? The tread width is narrower than stock.

Nitto's

I bought the Nitto Invo's which are their performance street tires. I have approximate 15K miles on them and mine are wearing great. I dont do any track duty, just street driving, and an occasional off ramp at speed. I ditched my brand new GY's cause they picked up every rock on the road and flicked them against the car. I run 315's in the rear, and 275's up front on stock wheels. Plus these tires were around $1200 for the set new.

I haven't found any all season tires in the original sizes for the 2017 zl1.

Sure enough confusion to go around! I noticed Tire Rack and Michelin's home page lists the Super Sports as High Performance Summer tires. I also saw (thanks to your post) they now do make them in our size, so that's good news (said "new" relative to tire size on Tire Rack's site).

Thanks for the heads up.

Be careful if the temp drops below 40 degress, just drive like a grandma, there was also report of them cracking under that as well. I have drove with them in the 30's, and you can feel a difference.

Please keep us updated with your experience with the p4s. I'm looking to get those after these go bald.
