Why some many used with ~1600 miles?

Hi guys, potential ZL1 buyer here. I am looking at a few 2014 used ZL1s and there seems to be quite a few with somewhere in the ball park of 1600 miles. Any idea why this is? Certainly owners are not finding something they dislike?? Advice and feedback appreciated.

This is because people buy these cars to drive occasionally. Then they discover that they really can't afford them anyway. This is especially if they get a major traffic violation in them. It is expensive enough to drive one of these cars with a good record etc.

I would think they are GM program cars.

GM execs and white collars get to drive them for a bit then they put them back up FS.

Most who can afford these cars are if a different economic class....sorry but it's true.

These cars are not bought to daily drive but are one of several toys for these people. The guy I bought my ZL1 off of also has a Hellcat, 15' Camaro Z/28, Stingray Z06/Z07 & an airplane. He works hard and has built a successful business.

I got my ZL1 for a seal but I do travel out of town a lot so I don't DD my ZL1. Mainly weekends, track days and Camaro car shows and meets. I also own a Traverse (family car) and a 15' Malibu (work car).

Everyone is different but most peeps who buy a 65k+ performance sport car just don't daily drive them as they have other cars for that.

If you don't mind waiting for the newer cars to get some age on them with low mileage you can pick up some great deals.

I myself will be looking for a Blue/Red Stingray Z06 low mileage Z06 in a few years as I'm sure some old guys bought these cars and never drove them much.

It sounds like most aren't DD's. Mine is. I've had my 14' ZL1 for 15 months and have almost 19000 miles on it. I love driving the car both to and from work, but also whenever I get a chance to take it for a spin in the mountains. So far it's been rock solid.....just a blast to drive. There is another thread that asks about miles on 12' and 13' models, and some of the miles are sooooo low. I totally get everybody is different and bad weather is certainly a factor, but if folks are just letting this driving machine sit......so sad. It begs to be taken out on the road.

A lot of people don't realize that the ZL can be a handful..in a good way as well as a bad way. Unless you have a very good commute with unlimited parking, you may find it hard daily driving one of these with congested traffic and tight parking IMO. Other reasons that we're seeing young, low mile ZLs could be financial obligations that force one to sell, or expired lease agreements. Its a given that most ZLs will be second or weekend cars, so sometimes life's priorities may have an influence in selling off one's toy(s). My ZL, however, is here to stay!

I am a hard working father of three that daily drives his ZL1 . The only reason I can afford this vehicle is b/c when my new 1le got totaled and the INS co just flat hooked my up with a Zl1 under their new car replacement program. With that said I feel I am in the minority here as I am daily driving this car in the north east. Not too mention parking in east bubbleshit away from the sockcuckers.

Let the bigger boys mentally mf their cars in the garage. cars are not investments.

Experiences and Relationships are all that matter. Everything else is just filler, and a car is only as good as the places you go and the people you go with. I love my car.

I bought my 14 with 2200 miles. She just turned 5k and I'm just now getting the hang of her.

I bought my 13 in August of 13. By August of this year it will have 15k miles on it. I don't daily it, but it's the car of choice for almost every road trip. And our road trips average 1000 miles, round trip. Some shorter, some longer, but always fun.

I can't daily drive mine, ironically, because the parking deck I use is so narrow I think it's get stuck.
