I bought my 2010 2LT RS used and it has the mailslot, did it come on any V-6's or did someone change the front facia ?

No accident reports, carfax was clean and I could see no signs of a repair.

Yep, they did put an SS front bumper on the car. Could be either because it had been in an accident & that's what they replaced it with or the previous owner just decided to install an SS front bumper. A lot of V6 owners here seem to have done SS or ZL1 front bumper swaps, and I've seen some other V6's on the road with SS bumpers as well.

Chances are the owner liked the look of the SS bumper so he swapped it. I did on mine (my stock bumper was damaged because of a chunk of tire hitting it) and then I swapped to the ZL1 I prefer the look

I like the look of the SS bumper. I'd be happy about having it. If you want to know the story you could likely contact the prior owner by subscribing to On-Star for one month, pressing call button and say, "home". Will 80% time dial prior owner's home phone (they forget to clear memory before they sell the car). Just a thought.

I'm ok with it as long as it doesn't have SS badges on it. I have seen 5 V6s down here in the last 3months with SS badges on them. The two I saw in a parking lot I kindly removed the SS badges from them and put them under the windshield wiper and left a note saying "Don't claim to be something your not".

I would do it in front of them given the chance. I was very careful in removing them. I didn't break anything and left them in a condition where they could put them back on if they were so inclined. The other 3 people I just confronted them about them in a nice manner and they removed them on their own.
