After speaking with BTR, and giving them my cam specs, they advised against their intake. Since the cam peters out up top, the gains up there wont be significant. But the low end loss might be. They said a long runner is probably gonna be my best fit.

Its hard to argue against the Pro Flo. It fits under the stock hood, it has long runners, and its cheap...

Picked up a black Pro Flo XT and a black NW103mm TB for the same price as the X1...

I def like the X1, and either probably would have worked for me, but I dont think I will lose any torque with the XT. And as Bob Barker once said, "the price is right"

Scored some rails locally and fabbed up my own brackets. Start tuning tonight. Im gonna try to tune it myself this time. I also decided to go full send and installed the larger 207mm lower pulley and the smaller 90mm upper. Fingers crossed…

Just a heads up for anyone that may try this intake. The new NW103 style throttle body has a different motor on the side, and it requires more hood clearance. The TB is kinda pushing into the hood insulator, but it still fits.

I was going to flip it, but then it hits my regulator.

Wow, always gotta be something huh?? Thin out the insulator a tad for clearance, that way it won't be sitting on the TB connector part of it. Just a thought.

Have you tried to flip the throttle body upside down? Many builds have done this due to clearance.

Yea, then it hits my fpr. Its fine like this so far. Not hitting the metal hood bracing.

Im having an issue though. Leaking o rings.

The manifold calls for 14mm orings and my rail measure 13.8mm (powdercoating) so 14mm should work. I’d like to order a fresh set but i dont know which ones should go with fic1300 injectors. I suppose i should measure the ID.

Any suggestions? Anyone know off hand?

I called FIC and found the right o-rings, which are exactly what I have already. Problem turns out to be these cheap rails I bought. More specifically the brackets I made for them. The holes in the rails are 2.5inches to the right of the holes in the manifold.

They hold the rails from moving side to side, but they dont seem to hold up against 8psi of boost forcing the injectors directly up and out of the manifold. Data log shows fuel pressure drop to nil when I hit 8#s.

So now that I've given the motor a good ethanol bath, I've decided to order the Edelbrock rails and just sit patiently until January when they ship.

.......and put a fire extinguisher in my car.
