Need Help with Interchiller Install

I need help with directions and instructions for installing an Interchiller. Lots of pics below. Hoping I can get some of you who have installed these to help me get this sorted out. I purchased this kit many years ago from the Nickey shop in Chicago. As you can see, it is a RX Interchiller. But the guys at Nickey told me that it is an early build of the RX Interchiller from back when Dave (Active Interchiller) was building the kits for RX. Then I guess they had a falling out. Or something like that. So…I think this is basically an Active Interchiller for the most part. Which I know are still being sold and installed.

The kit looks pretty complete. Perhaps some of you can comment based on what you see.

Does anyone happen to have a copy of install directions for either an Active Interchiller or an RX Interchiller?

Hoping to get some responses to some of the pics with explanations on what it is, and where it’s installed & routed.

Looks like you have the competition kit, which allows you to use the interchiller function while in the staging lanes. Separate comments to follow.

Top picture is the competition solenoid and associated control relay and toggle switch. This item should be installed between the compressor and cabin evaporator, so that when activated, it shuts off the refrigerant flow to the cabin evaporator. Bottom picture is the vacuum valve to control the water diverter valve (Black plastic 4-port object). This valve is electrically operated, tapped into the a/c compressor activation (+) wire. The LED is wired to the competition solenoid/toggle switch assembly so that you have a visual indicator when it is activated. While nice to have, not required for operation.

I can't help on the A/C lines, as mine were hard lines and I opted for the non-competition model.

Got it. That’s super helpful. Thank you. I think I got the idea of how this thing works. I don’t plan to go to the track. Just a street car. So I think I’ll skip the cabin shut off set up.

Has anyone ran into trouble burning out the ac system by running one of these? Or cabin ac not working well in hot weather because the system can’t keep up with both the chiller and cabin ac?

Since I’m not running at the track…Wondering if maybe I should plumb the competition mode valve to be able to shut off the chiller when I want. That way I can have cabin ac without the chiller running. I guess the only reason to ever do that would be if the answer to my question above is “yes” there has been incidents where the overall system can’t keep up…

One more question…I’m curious as to why the flow doesn’t go from the chiller into the heat exchanger? Now I understand that in hot weather the Hx would actually be heating the water a little bit after it leaves the chiller. But I wonder if it could also serve as a bigger reservoir of cold water that would help keep the system cooler longer during longer pulls (because the ac shuts off under hard acceleration).

Perhaps just adding a bigger reservoir hidden somewhere after the chiller would work to serve the same purpose and not actually heat the post chiller cooled water like a heat exchanger might in hot weather.

Anyone have a diagram or a pic of how the ac/freon lines run? Where they tap into the ac system?
