Launching a 1LS?

So the local track runs bracket racing so you really don't need a bunch of expensive stuff to do this on occasion (meaning one or two times for S&G's).

SO, stock 1LS M6 for those of you who have done it.

What did you set your tires at? I know to avoid the water box with street tires.

What rpms did you launch at? The gear ratios in these LS LT M6's are crazy.

Launch in first or second?

Again I am sure this has been discussed, but the search function either sucks or I am a moron when it comes to using it.

SS 1LE here so my car is different then yours but i will answer some questions:
27 PSI for rear tires
around 2500 RPM for launch. You will want to attempt to slip the clutch and not just pop it. My best runs are when I almost ride the clutch a little to get it moving and then let off the pedal.
Launch in 1st.

Run it to the redline or rev limiter?

Depends on quick you can shift. If you are fast enough you can go just before rev limiter kicks in. Really depends on your car. Mine is still pulling when it gets to red line and all the way up until rev limiter kicks in. If you feel like it is falling off, shift just before that point.

The problem is though all cars are different so I am just giving you what works for my car. To really find out the right things for your setup you just need to go to a test and tune and try different things to determine what is best for your car.
