I don't give a damn. If the car traps 4 mph more than I do, then it is easily capable of 5 tenths quicker et. All it takes is a good driver.

My first post here so here goes. Forget it, if I say what I really want to say I'll get banned. I'll just bite my lip and keep reading.

How about this... from this point forward, only those that have a stock car that can beat the ZL1 Stock gets to comment.... If your car can run 11.9x or better Stock... you can comment... Let’s see who can step up... Man it's like a bunch of kids going back and forth, get over it... again GM made a stock run, you can read into how you want, but it's so obvious it made runs on stock tires and DRs.... if you take the time to read the articles and watch the videos it doesn’t take a genius to reaize the data is there, the editing job was bad on how they put the video together but all the data to support the claim… because they didn't show video like some want, or write it like some want some of you have issues... Now... who can beat this Stock for Stock... oh, and show your time slip and video along with your claims you have to be held to the same standard your holding the ZL1 to… and if you can’t do that… your just talking to hear yourself talk... I'm just saying

Ok, I thought it over. How about whoever made the vid post up the times with the stock OEM tires and then the times with the drag radials; keep the time slips in two groups. One group for the stock tires and the other group using the drag radials.

In the beginning..."Running at Infineon Raceway (Sonoma, California) on a cold, unprepped track and with a stiff headwind, we clocked a disappointing 12.67 at 115 mph.

Then they say " We got our redemption this past May at Englishtown, when Ford dropped off this tester fashioned in white with red Le Mans stripes"

Then all of a sudden, a different tester on a different track and it goes from 12.67 to 11.85! OK. Sure!

Sounds like a Vegas Magic Show!

Autoblog update #2
*UPDATE TWO: The times quoted in the press release – 11.93 for the auto and 11.96 for the manual – were recorded on the stock Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G:2 tires. According to Chevrolet, the team knocked about a tenth of a second off those numbers with the Mickey Thompson drag tires.

Sounds almost exactly what we've been reading today.

Most other track times you see before has the ZL1 running mid-low 12's. all of a sudden it's a 11sec. car on stock tires.

MotorTrend also ran the ZL1 to a under 12 sec 1/4 mile....... I have never seen the media (non bias ) hit under 12 secs for any Shelby or Boss on stock tires

shows you how important track prep is. I know englishtown is usually a good track to make records on. But i also think its reasonable to say that GM has more than enough money to pay for a ton of vht and track prep. Enough to make street tires hook as well as anyone has ever seen.
