i put some thermal insulation on the heat shield to seal off the air dam from the engine but thanks for the tip i will look into the sleeve and use it on rave days and take it off when showing it off.

now i dont know for sure but hasnt henneseey been bought and sold a few times? bankrupcties etc. its not our fathers henneseey and never will be again.

hot air intakes are a problem and down right shiesty. there are actual cold air intakes thst work and look good. adm race, cai w/scoop, rotofab w/scoop to name a few that have been tried and tested on track, dynos, and car shows

A) It's aluminum, not steel (The thought of making a steel intake....just wow)

B) You can do the Google with any company our size, and those were all 10 years ago when we had so much demand for our product we couldn't keep up, anyone who has ever owned a successful business has those, and again, over 10 years ago. Google it. If you get ambitious you can Yahoo it too. Maybe even Bing.

What kind of high performance company thinks a intake that is sucking hot air right off the exhaust manifold, is going to perform well.
Actually it's optional, because we had customers ask for it both ways so many times.

The Camaro makes 425 horsepower stock. When you're talking about a 1% power gain to make something that looks ugly, we'll do it our way. Our customers are interested in picking up more than a 1% power gain, and they want a clean engine bay, which is why our intake is designed as is to work in conjunction with our industry-leading warrantied packages.

The internet...sheesh. Our company has grown exponentially, and like any growing company, we have taken on new technicians, fabricators, vendors, transporters, customer relations personnel, accountants, and again, like any successful business, John did take on a partner a while back and the business has exploded now that we almost have the manpower to meet the demand.

However, since this thread is not to discuss HPE's success, and bumps it has had in the road during unexpected growth that has allowed us to become one of the largest aftermarket powerhouses in the World, with over 40 employees, North America's only test track for a tuner shop, 2 Domestic and 3 International storefronts, and this thread is indeed about intakes, let me chime in on a couple of things relevant to this thread.

There are several factors to take into account with any part. Performance is #1, but also manufacturing, fit, and finish, and in some cases aesthetics. And the question must also be asked "What will this be used for, and who is the customer?"

Our intakes are designed for the customer who wants to have something that looks good when they pop the hood, and also performs. The customer that buys our intake typically has other modifications and wants the Hennessey brand in that equation. Some have a nice head/cam combo, some just have an intake and exhaust.

When the car makes 425 horsepower from the factory, you have to look at a realistic goal. When you're modifying a car that will see less than a 5% power gain with 20 horsepower, it starts to not matter if you're making 15 or 25 horsepower. Both will be equally undetectable by any occupant of the vehicle, other than audible levels and what you see when you pop the hood. With that said we designed something you could hear (location of filter), see (again, location) and service (recurring theme here: location). Our intakes are easy to use, easy to service, and make good power.

We could drop the temps a tiny bit using plastic, but let's face it, plastic is ugly, and it looks cheap. We chose aluminum, we fabricate it here in house with USA sourced material. No matter what you use, when your customer base is stuck in traffic or driving from point A to point B, 90% of the time it's going to become the same as its surroundings, which is the underside of the hood. Sure the air passing by will transfer some of the heat out of it, but the bottom line is that the benefit of not using aluminum really isn't there for what most people do, and they want something functional that looks pretty when they pop the hood. We're able to do both, so we do. It's really just that simple, and again the heat shield is optional, because that is how our customers have asked for it time and time again.
