Maybe I do not fully understand the theory behind how heat exchangers work but I was under the impression that they radiated heat from the hot water to the cooler air that flows through the heat exchanger.
It seems to me that a thermal barrier would create a thermal barrier that would reduce the heat exchanger's ability to transfer heat from the water to the air. You should actually be using a heat dissipating coating or nothing at all. Bare aluminum dissipates heat very well. The kit does look really nice, but I would stay away from the thermal barrier. |

Correct me if im wrong, but would you want heat dissipation coating on the heat exchanger? A thermal barrier is the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish - Check out Cerakote "Transfer Black C-187" or "Arctic Black P-202" from NIC Industries.

I didn't see anything on their web site regarding a black thermal coating, but here are the specs for the heat exchanger (radiator) from their site.
