Removing ALL Torque Management on Engine Side OK?

Hey guys,

I've been really getting into HP tuners over the last several months. Ive seen several buddies turn off the TQ MGMT on the Engine side but leave it stock on the trans side. Is this okay or is this frowned upon?

It looks like all the engine side values are changed from 280 ft lbs to max and the trans input value is maxed out as well.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!!

From my understanding trq mgmt is there to save wear and tear on the drivetrain. So you can turn it off but expect some accelerated wear on the drive train. I have seen guys picking up tenths on there 60' times by increasing the allowable torque in the trq mgmt tables especially with drag radials. But again all of that shock load can cause increased wear on drive train components especially if your increasing power from factory.

Im still learning tuning so take this with a grain of salt.

If you havent seen this yet this video touches on the basics of torque tuning. https://youtu.be/7TlPY19VVm4

Personally I don't recommend it for a daily or a regular street driven car. Owners preference of course. I have my Tq Management set near stock settings for the first 2 gears then it's raised quite a bit 3rd-5th. Not a huge noticeable difference

This is my daily, but my current tune is not a whole lot different from stock. It Just turned off codes and rear o2 sensors for the headers. Fuel and timing look stock when I compare in hp tuners as well as TQ mgmt on engine and trans side.

You know, in my opinion, don’t build a friggin hot rod (GM) and throttle the damn thing back. Make a drivetrain to handle it! Dammit.

Thanks for the feedback, Have you done this on your tune? how does it feel? any reliability concerns for a daily?
