Here is a look at Pedders
Mike Haddad's shop is a fairly short ride in Inglewood, he's by far the best place for you to bring your Camaro! Haddad Motorsports 423 E. Florence Ingelwood, CA 90301 http://www.haddadmotorsports.com/index.html Ph: O 310.412.8032 mike@haddadmotorsports.com |

I'm not saying Eibach is a bad product but I wouldn't let $50-$100 stop you from buying the brand you really want. I initially wanted Eibach for the price as well but they are almost cheap enough to make me worry why they are so cheap. I'm just saying that for that little of money don't let it sway you from a spring you really want. Keep researching and then buy the one based on your gut feeling. You don't want to be sorry down the road that you should've bought XXX brand for a little more money.
Picking the right spring is a very tuff choice. From my resarch this what I found for pricing: Eibach: just under $200 Pedders: $360 Pfadt: about $300 Hotchkis: $285 BMR: $240 I ended up with Hotchkis

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think -
Pedders and Pfadt are 1.25" drop Eibach and Hotchkis are 1" drop Pfadt recommends cutting the bump stop and the others do not. (there's differing opinion as to whether that's the best thing to do or not) Not sure about the others. |

Pedders is a 1" drop but other than that I think you are correct.
H&R and DSE are 1.4" I believe. I also think BMR is going to offer both a 1" and 1.4" spring. I didn't want to cut my bump stops which is one of the reasons that lead me to the Hotchkis.

Pfadt recommends cutting the bump stop and the others do not./QUOTE] Need clearification on this do not understand what cutting the bump stop is. I took would like to "Bolt-on" some lowering springs, but do not want to do any cutting or remove more than i have to do it. I am stuck between Hot's and PFadt..... |

Pete is running either 305 or 315's all around on the Pedders Camaro
The bump stops are designed by GM The struts are designed by GM The bump stops are to protect the strut from damage. Pedders makes their parts to be compatible with stock parts. Do you think that we would press so hard that you shouldn't cut the bump stops if we could just jump on the band wagon and say sure, go ahead, just buy our stuff. Do you think that GM would design a bump stop that should be cut in half, and still function correctly? |

We are running a 20x10 with 275's on the front and a 20x11.5 with 305's on the rear.I have seen some cars with the 315's on the back.We have the Pedders coil overs on our camaro,it is about 1.5" lowered all around and have no problems. We also have the pedders in stock if needed.

My Eibach equipped car is 1.2-1.3" lower than it was stock. The kit comes with a 1M mile warranty. Corners like a slot car and looks bad azz.

You should use 275s for the fronts and not 265s. There is way too much spread between the 2 tires. You do know doing a big split configuration will actually reduce handling ability, but will look aggressive. thanks mike dms |

I belive my D2Forged wheels have the perfect offsets. So if you say they will rub the fender well before coilovers then I should be good to go... Maybe the next set of tires I'll try the 275's |

I'd like to explain why we reccommend cutting the bumpstops in our procedure. Our Pfadt drop springs provide a 1.25" drop approximately. As a result of this change in static ride height, the usable region of the damper travel is offset, to be approximately 1.25" lower. The Camaro has a very limited amount of bump travel to begin with, before contacting the OEM bumpstops. We recommend to trim 1" from the bumpstop in our installation procedure to give you back that 1.00" of damper travel, that is not influenced by the added spring rate of the bump rubber. We leave some bump stop in place to give a rising rate on big hits. Because dampers function by resisting the shaft velocity, this offset operating region has no negative effects on the component durability, or performance. This conclusion was made from testing, and experiencing harsh bump characteristics that some have mentioned, who have not cut them. This of course, is just our position in regards to our own product installation. I hope that helps clarify the reasoning. |
