Recommend me a camshaft
Looking for recommendations for a camshaft. I plan on installing a cam during the winter while the car is parked. I plan to track the car, drift track/ auto cross/ track days. I have a 2011 ss ls3/m6. I have long tube headers, full 3in exhaust, cold air intake and tuned. My goal would be around around 475+. Looking for input from people who have already cammed their cars.

I have the tsp stage 4 and I love it. It does buck a bit at low rpm...it's not for everyone for sure...but I'm a bit old school. Really depends how you want the car to act/ sound....

Tsp 235/239 here. Made 480/433 through npp exhaust with a shifty k&n intake.
Only mods were the cam kit, headers, and CAI. I don't think you can go wrong with tsp, btr, tick, gpi. |

Been looking at cams myself. Ive been comparing other cams with th GM 525 cam. This cam doesn't make the hp at top end or even as much tq at peak as some of the others, but its making 450ftlbs before 3000rpm. The others aren't making that until around 4400rpm. They might come on like a freight train after that but they'll have to catch me. However like most I to want more.

I went with the BTR Stage 3 N/A cam and couldn't be happier. I literally have 3 mods...CAI, Headers, cam...my car made 475whp. Power is everywhere. I do have a 1LE though so I have 3.91 rear diff and TR6060 trans so your car may feel different with the same cam. I lost no low end power and it pulls STRONG all the way to 6500 rpm.

Thanks for your input. I have been reading around quite a bit. As far as br30 for break in, any brands you'd recommend? I read a post of yours the other day explaining the 1.7x.047=.077 . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There's a good amount of cams out there that make some good power. We would recommend getting with your tuner to see what he would recommend. Dyno numbers will vary from location to location because of mother nature so dont set your self too much on dyno numbers. Think about the purpose of the car, daily, track, weekend driver etc.....and get with your tuner.
