Use your head. Your boss is a car guy. You said you got hired because he likes cars and that's all you talked about. Drive the Camaro. Make sure the boss knows you're saving up for a Vette. Talk cars with him when you can.

He doesn't want a beater in his parking lot. He likes you because you like cars. Don't let him forget why he hired you. Every time he sees that V6 Camaro parked in his lot, he will think about you.

I have owned 2 cavaliers, 1997 LS 4 door and a 2004 LS 2 door coupe. I bought the 04 used with 90k on the clock. It was a mess cosmetically but I really didn't have any issues with it mechanically. If your planning on keeping the Camaro for the weekend and such you going to probably want another car.
Is it at all possible that you will be doing errands for your job? Or driving clients or anything of that nature?

I have a 2007 Pontiac G5 I use as my DD, I drive too many miles to drive the camaro every day... That would be my suggestion, buy a DD, and drive the camaro during the weekend and occasionally during the week when it is nice out.
You never know when you buy those older high mileage cars, how they have been kept, cared for, etc. You could get one that could cost you a lot in repairs, or it could cost you little to nothing to run.

Aside from making him money, this is a good tactic lol

I'd get the civic it will last forever and you could minimize some of the rock chips and other wear and tear on the Camaro. I have a 1997 civic and Its a great work car for me. I work construction so the ZL1 is absolutely out of the question. They also hold there value well

Only thing that changed my fleet of 2004 Cavaliers and Sunfires into 2009 Cobalts and G5s was undercarraige rust here in Ohio. The little cars do 200K if the oil get changed and fluids kept up. Been buying Lordstown cars since 1990.

I also second leasing something small. That's what I did. After my wife got pregnant I knew my 2 door cavalier wouldn't cut it anymore. I went and leased a 14 Cruze 1LT/RS. The payment is like 223 a month and I don't have to worry about any problems.

I have $2500 to work with...Here are my options what do you suggest.HELP!

These are the kind of tough decisions everyone wants.

Your Camaro has never been a DD. It's time to start.
You need something with good mpg and reliable. That would be your Camaro.
Your other options cost money, and then time to fix em up to be reliable.
You have a car now. It's just a car. Drive it to work and back home every day. Dilemma solved.

Bingo, these cars will last just like any foreign car will!
Had an '86 Cavalier with 151,000 on it,and an '88 Corsica with 248,000 miles on it,same issue with them as well..damn salt from the Pa. Winters!
