Not surprised, but once people realize how good the new Colorado is they may see some defection from Toyota. The new version of the Colorado is light years better than the previous generation, just as the Impala is too. The new versions are quite good.

Colorado's also the fastest selling truck on the market right now. Wentzville can't build enough of them.

I'll be curious to see how this pans out when the diesel engine becomes available in the Colorado.

I had a 91 Toyota pickup (before they were called Tacoma's). It was a great truck... 24mpg around town with the 2.4L 4banger 5sp.

Paid $8400 for it new... PS, PB, AC... bare bones truck... had 98k miles on it before trading it for a 2000 Ford Expedition. Just oil changes, tires, and brakes.

While the Tacoma's are nice, I think the new Colorado's are better looking. Can't say anything about the reliability of them, but if I were in the market for a small truck I'd get the Colorado anyway. But I want a new Silverado which I like more than both of those.

I have a Tacoma now and hands down, most reliable vehicle I have owned and I have owned a lot of vehicles. It is my daily driver and do all. It doesnt have all the fancy stuff the other trucks have but IMO, those aren't as important as PROVEN reliability and longetivity.

Its going to take another 5 years for GM to sway the general public into buying their small pick up trucks again

I agree. Toyoto has a rep as being a high quality vehicle. Many many people in this country still have the 1980s mind set that the imports are so much better.

With their new chassis from recall... and allllll those other Toyota recalls. I had one lady telling me how great her Honda is despite having a new engine, trans and constant suspension work. :(

If the Tacoma is selling 2-1 over the Colorado, how can the Colorado be the fastest selling truck?

I thought the Ford truck ruled them all anyways...
