No, the throttle controller isn't a tuner. You won't get any check engine light or anything. it basically sends an electronic signal to your throttle body and tells it to open faster.

I don't think you'll get anywhere near the drone you had with the civic, but if you're worried about it, I'd just hold off until you get something aftermarket.

That's probably the smartest. And man exhausts for this car is expensive. lol Probably gonna end up buying it when it's in storage for the winter.

Well, unless you want to drive around with a check engine light. If not, then you'll need to get a tune as well.

Headers give you a CEL?

Yeah and then you can't use your autostart. Tune is a must.

This. also, the reason it does is because it gets rid of your CATS and the O2 sensors, which causes the CEL. So it's not going to hurt your car. Just annoying (for me) to see that light all the time. And then as Jewel said, with an auto, you won't have remote start anymore.

So if I get a tune it'll take the CEL off and allow autostart?

Correct.

Most headers delete the rear o2's which cause a code and if you put high flow cats or "cats" (empty shells) with rear o2's it'll cause a code.

However, long tubes are an easy way to pick up 20-30HP. I have the cheap speed engineering ones with zero complaints. They were $250 I believe.

Okay they went up a little, but they have the empty cats that look like them, they also bolt right up to the stock exhaust which is why I kept my NPP.

I paid $850 shipped for Texas Speed LTs and a SLP Powerflo axleback. I think I was a little over $1000 all in with a tune and all new parts

3 DUI arrests and a ton of criminal traffic summonses. Productive Cinco de Drinko.
