Car is back at the shop. Trans issues pulled it off the dyno the first time. Made 565 in 2nd unlocked extra save (extra fuel, no timing).
Took it home. Had the 1-2 and 3-4 solenoids wired backwards. Trans is much happier now. So hoping for bigger numbers, then switching to E and turning it up. |

So, good news and bad news.
made 1000 HP barely. Turbo ran out of steam. couldn't make any more boost. Made the pull below with the converter locked up. without smoothing it made 1000, 9xx with the smoothing on. on the next pull the trans let go. so the car will be back down. |

Your 4l80 gave out on the dyno......
Was this like a stock 4l80?

Trans issue has been identified. Sheared the torque converter bolts.
Going to try to just drill the bolts out and put in a size larger. |

I ballooned a converter then it ripped the mounts out of the converter - fluid spraying everywhere (bolts did not shear off) with only 550hp... the next converter had a metal ring connecting all of the mounting holes. This is impressive. Nice work!

I do not know exactly how it happened. Bolts were tight and had red loctite on them, so I don't think they loosened up.
They were not high quality bolts (I had ordered ARP, but they were the wrong size). just going to drill them out and use ARP 7/16ths in bolts. |

More photos of the carnage. Got a "new" trans and got the bits of bolts out of the converter this weekend. Moral of the story, don't use oriely's brand bolts in your converter and then forget to replace them with ARP.
