Engine block build

So im getting ready to order a lower end build for my blown 10 ss and was wondering what everyone is running on the bottom end . Currently stock internals / 766 whp ecs supercharged . Was thinking about going 416 or 427 my builder also mentioned stock crank and just swapping rods and pistons . Just looking for some opinions from people with similar setup

416. A 427 will require a 4.100 stroke crank and the cylinder sleeves in the LS3 block aren't long enough to last with a 4.1 or longer stroke. You can get away with it - for a while. An 11 cubic inch difference will not be noticed.

If you keep the stock crank (which has been proven to last in 1000 crank hp applications) with it's 3.622 stroke, you will end up with a 377 if using a 4.070 bore (.005/5 thousandths over).

If it is in your budget, go with the 416 all day long. You'll like the added torque down low.

I had a 377 (stock crank, forged 4.07 pistons and Calllies rods) with a Ysi. I made over 1kwhp. Then I went to twin turbos and broke something...

What's your budget? This could be $5k or $50k depending on parts selected.

Additionally. Stock crank hopefully he is speaking of LSA crank.. Cause your stock LS3 won’t cut it by any means!

Stroke doesn't change. 427= 4.0 stroke and 416-418=4.0 stroke. bore sizes change from 4.07 to 4.125.

Yes it does if you are seeking 427-429 cubic inches out of an LS3 block that isn't aftermarket sleeved. You'll have to go with the 4.1 stroke. Since OP never mentioned a different block than his stock one, I thought I'd mention the differences.

4.070 bore and 4.0 crank = 416
4.070 bore and 4.1 crank = 427
4.125 bore (either aftermarket block or sleeved stock block to get this bore) and 4.0 crank = 427

Oh, I know there are plenty of builds making 1000-1100 RWHP on a stock crank.. he’ll even A complete stock bottom end. But don’t include reliable in that claim cause that by no means is the case...
