Where in the US are you talking about? Here in Minnesota, someone almost always stops to help. One guy got hit and killed helping a disabled motorist a year or two ago, and that happened on the interstate in the heart of the city. About 5 years ago, an elderly woman got into a accident by my house and literally about 25 people pulled over to help get her out.

I was thinking the same thing. Here in the Detroit area people would slow down to gawk, but not many if anyone would get out and help.
