My Resonator Project
So like Scrming, I decided to do a muffler delete and replace it with high-flow resonators instead. We ended up reusing the original tips, and a single 45" elbow which we cut in half to get the spacing right. Throw in some custom hanger brackets, some welding, and we're done.
Total cost: $126, and about 90 minutes. I hope you like. Sound is a little deeper than camera makes it sound. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ojLuC00ALcY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ojLuC00ALcY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3MGqkr6oZtc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3MGqkr6oZtc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/aaP37imaR00&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/aaP37imaR00&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> If anyone wants any additional info, PM me! |

Not bad, but almost sounds a little too high with the extra resonator.
Ever think about a true x-pipe and a regular delete? Got any more pictures of the custom stripes?

Sounds like one of those little 2 door Civics that go speeding by with their 5 inch exhaust tip bouncing around almost scraping the pavement.
To each his own i guess, not up my valley for sounds but if you like it, thats what matters.

Very cool!
Couple of things... Definitely not the best location for the video... you are getting a lot of echo off all the buildings which doesn't help the sound... You will find as the pipes "season" the sound will actually mellow out a bit and sound better! And finally... listen with a good set of head phones! Sounds good!

I'll give you that- It's not nearly as high pitched at it came out to sound. I'll take some better video when I get back from vacation.
Biggest difference is that she breathes now. No hesitation. I like it. |

Umm.... IMHO I would put it back to stock. It sounds like a Honda, almost 4 cylinder-ish... Thats kinda an embarasment for a Camaro. Sorry. But hey, If you like it... roll with it.

So you guys REALLY think it sounds like this:
Just because it's doesn't sound like a V8 doesn't mean it can't sound good! I mean I've heard some gosh awful V8 in my day... The other thing is he made the video in probably one of the worst possible locations...

Yea it sounds, no where near what a civic sounds like. If anything Its going to sound more like a Supra depending on the exhaust. It's not a bad exhaust.
