I'd definitely go with the 2012 unless you really, really want the touchscreen. The brand new car thing will go away pretty quick, but the leather seats and HUD will be around for as long as you have the car.

If you do get the '12, I would upgrade to the frameless mirror though. I will be soon.

It's comes down to what options you want if you can live with out the leather, HUD, center stack gauges, ABL package, rear backup camera go for the 1LT/RS. Just make sure you pick up a 13 1LT/RS with the better options. I myself could not live with out the extra goodies thus the reason why I would not purchase a 1SS.

About the leather, if it's used, and doesn't have at least a minor wrinkle in it, it will once you put a few thousand miles on it, so I wouldn't be too picky about it. While I do agree that 14 mpg is aweful, you should know that the V8's get much better than that what with the AFM system, and provided you keep your foot under control.
Well, I am a spirited driver sometimes, and I do test out my 0-60 sometimes taking off from the highway. I do like having good gas mileage, and even though the newer v8 engines get decent gas mileage, I want the best I can get... without being a base camaro. LOL

Yeah, you can even by a harness so it is plug and play. I can't stand the original mirror, I can't even adjust it high enough to see out of it properly because the gaint plastic frame hits the header!

-you'll love heated seats in cold weather
-I personally love leather over cloth.. i'm sure the ladies might light it better too..
-back up camera is pretty much a must for backing up.. test drive one without it and reverse if the salesman will allow it

-MyLink is nice, but its a really fancy bell/whistle.... you can get a gps and if you've got an mp3/ipod then you're set..

if you're getting a manual, you wont have to deal with the hill start assist

But you can't have the backup camera if you do interchange the mirrors. That sucks and is a deal breaker for me. I have to make the decision if i want the technical features of the 2013 1LT, or the aesthetic features of the 2012 2LT... SO no go with the retrofit.

Going by what I read in his post, he was listing all the things in the 2012 2LT... therefore I think his comment on Hill Assist regards to the 2012.
