GM CARD NOW BACK TO 5% EARNINGS!!!!!
The GM card credit card is back up to 5% earnings. It had been 3% for new applicants for the longest time. There is still a per model earnings redemption limit but you can get there quicker.
Check it out. https://www.gmcard.com/GMCard/ I'm still glad I have the old school card with 5% and the 3500 dollar across the board limit but this new offer is much better than has been out there for several years.BTW I was able to use all 3500 for my car on the old school card. So I highly recommend everyone that can to apply. |

It's easy money off, the newer ones(cards) unlike ours have a per vehicle cap but still a great deal. My wife had the 3% card and it felt like it took for ever to get earnings up. At 5% if you charge 10gs a year you'll earn 500 dollars of earnings and it's conbinable with most offers. Did I mention their is no earnings limit so if you charge 50Gs you get 2500 earnings. When I got my car I received the original college grad pricing about 500 over invoice (it got changed after my order was placed and was 1200+ over invoice). I also locked in before all the price changes so I received a check back from GM. When all was said and done I came out paying with all taxes and fees around 33000 dollars for a fully loaded 2SS/RS manual inferno orange interior/exterior with rally stripes. Not bad, every little bit counts. In fact I ended up paying what a friend of mine paid for his v6 challenger I din't have the heart to tell him .

Remember when you could earn up to $1000/year for 7 years, so you could have up to $7000 off on one car?
Over the years, I have gotten over $10,000 off on GM cars. Not bad. What I really hate right now is that GM has employee pricing and I cannot use my GM card rebate in combination with that pricing. I just need to get the dealer to give me the same pricing and not call it employee pricing!! |

It's technically not cash-back more like another rebate/cash off. Yes thats for the more recent cards like in the last 12 or so years. The older ones did not have a specific vehicle limit other than 3500. You earned up 500 a year for up to 7 years a max of 3500 you could use on any vehicle GM made besides SAAB. The new 5% just allows you to get to the current 1000 quicker. Plus if you go over that you'll have for future vehicles and they never expire I believe. Also I beleive you may be able to convert your 3% account to the 5% if you have an existing one at the very least you would be able to open a new account and transfer your earnings from the old. There may be some conversion rate involved.

If you have some huge amount of earnings you may be able to get the GM family card but it only earns 1% and transfer the earnings over but If you can do it it will probably be something like 5 dollars to 1 conversion. That would allow you to use the new card with employee pricing. but you would see 3500 dollars turn to 700. Still call things may have changed since I looked into transfering a year ago. |

I see. Well unfortunately to get the full $1000 dollars on a 5% rebate, I would have to spend 20k, which in my estimation will be wayyyy beyond the limit they'll offer me. Do I need to be within the credit limit when I purchase a vehicle? Or are car purchases and exception to the rule? |
