Has anyone of you ever measured the top speed of our stock Z/28?
I did not exceed 272 km/h (169 mph) today - measured on the speedometer in the dashboard.

YES!
But that's the only advantage. You have a lot more advantages there - no TÜV monitoring, and you can add everything you want to your car. Every little thing has to be approved by the TÜV - so a lot is not allowed here. For example, we are not allowed to install steering wheels here that do not have an airbag, no carbon doors, no wheels that have no strength certificate and no exhaust systems that are louder than those listed in our vehicle registration documents - for me it is 89 db in my documents.

I remember reading somewhere here that our cars ran into the wall at 174 mph. Of course you can find articles stating 180 or 190 mph as well.

extensive write up from when I did a half mile runway.

I have 578rwhp but it was into a consistent 20mph headwind! I saw GPS 164mph which was about 170 on the clocks and still pulling well before I had to brake. I tried a few aero bits and pieces - didn't make a lot of difference. Was on old 325 TrofeoRs that were a bit heat cycled out and hard, so didn't launch particularly hard.

On a better day, with a mile runway (or more autobahn) I reckon 180+ is easily doable.

Top speed on my 2015 stock Z/28 is 130 mph (209 kmh). That's as far as I'll push it. Doing 130 the 2015 is steady as a rock, I'm sure it will do 150, 160 and more easily.

Back in the day when I was stationed in Karlsruhe, Germany, I did 130 mph with my 89 IROC-Z and it was scary. 89 Z got real loose and squirrely doing that on autobahn 5 going to Heidelberg. Even back then, I probably had the slow car. Man, Hanz will do 135-150 with a Ford Opal, VW, Porsche (it's geared differently). I also had balls of steel back then, now just old balls. Good times, good times.

I've seen a video of someone in the 170s (178/179mph iirc), but from what I understand, after about 160 it starts getting slow to climb up in speed; after 170 its like a crawl (due to the aero). Iirc Chevy marketed the top speed as 190mph originally, but based on how much it slows down in the 170s, I'm thinking 180mph is more realistic. I never took mine above 112mph though personally.

I think I read where GM stated 176 with wicker and 179 without.

Roll raced a ‘16 Audi R8 w/ the’15 Z28. The two cars hung equal until at or around 140 mph but the R8 backed out. Thus, I believe the R8 would have surpassed the Z around 160, I pushed it to 170. After at or around 165 the movement of increasing was gradual- slow but deliberate.

2nd gear around 30 mph. We just rolled using a mile marker for our “Go” point.
