Eye problems...
Today is the 3week mark I have been having chronic pain in my left eye, only with movement. Went to eye Dr. last week about the pain, he said he wanted to see me back in 1 week if it continues, he didnt find any problems at the time of that visit..
Sunday when I woke up I had a severe change in vision in my left eye, it became all blurry to the point I cant make anything out, and more painful. Got to the DR. today he said it seems like a classic case of "Retrobulbar Neuritis" http://www.healthcentral.com/symptom...154747-75.html And he confirmed I had a rapid change in vision in my eye. The Doc suggested to wait a week and see what happens, but Im not so sure I should wait, kind of leaning towards making an appointment with a neurologist. Reason being my Mother has "Optic Neuritis" which was cause by M.S, so now this has me all worried. Plus being in constant pain with the eye sucks, I got to be taking 10 advils a day along with percoset. Thanks for Reading/listening |

dosen't hurt to get a second opinion it's your health i would do whatever i could, did he know of your past history because that is a huge factor in determining if you should or not though, but it is up to you.

After reading the link, I would not play the "wait and see" game that your eye doctor has said to do. It sounds like you could actually go blind. I would be checking into another doctor and see if there is any thing that can be done. Wishing you the best of luck.

I would suggest examing your diet first.
Are you drinking a sodas (diet sodas?), fast food, etc.? Start cutting out any crap you maybe eating and eat fresh vegetables and fruit for about 2 weeks and see if there are any changes. |

I know we all don't have a medical degree in here lol, but I think you should go ahead and see a doctor. If the pain has been constant for 3 weeks, then I doubt it will just go away on its own. That being said, get a second opinion!

I maybe eat fast food twice a month, I do drink regular soda. I'm not willing to wait 2 weeks and screw around with my vision, if I need some kind of steroid treatment, I would want it now before something is irreversible, if it comes to that. |

Did you see an opthalmologist????...I believe they are specialized in eye disorders vs an optometrist...just curious...good luck to ya...I will say a prayer for you...
p.s. if you have to wait until 4/9 to see a neurologist, would it help to see another opthalmologist or go to the ER and be seen ASAP???

I wouldn't go to the dr. in a week, way too long of a wait. Is there a hospital or something near you that specializes in eyes, for example in NYC there is the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital.
If there is such a place, or even just a regular hospital with a group of doctors that specialize in eyes, I'd go now. You really don't know if it's going to get better or worse. At least there you can find an eye doctor and a neurologist that could see you immediately. I mean who knows you may need surgery or they could find something that your doctor overlooked. |
